- Base Break with a Foil - $35.00 and Up
- Breaking the base is a term that is used when you are blending the roots of the hair that are left after a highlight OR foil. Essentially you are 'breaking up' the darker color and softening the line of demarcation. You will most often break the base at the shampoo bowl after your foils are removed, using a shade one to two levels lighter than your natural hair color.

What is a Root Tap, Root Smudge, Root Melt??
ROOT TAP
Root “tapping” is when a tiny amount of your natural color is applied just on a small amount of hair at the root. In the same manner, root smudge is done but less. Root Taps are for clients who want to look and feel as blonde as possible.
A tap slightly softens foil lines (the stripy blonde) and keeps the grow-out soft.

ROOT SHADOW/SMUDGE
Root shadowing is a low-maintenance hair color technique in which a darker shade is applied directly to the roots giving a soft, seamless contrast. It’s a great way to refresh your look and give your hair color depth and dimension. Root Shadows are great for clients who want to see brightness but also love a lived-in rooty blonde. It’s also ideal for those who wish for low maintenance and prefers to go 10 to 12 weeks between appointments. A shadow can be dropped down anywhere from 1-2″ and is meant to create noticeable depth at the root.
